Despite a two goal deficit in the opening period, the Jazz Jammin' Juggernaut of the Phantoms continued on Sunday as the team rallied to seize a heated 4-3 win over the Red Devils. The win marks the second
straight against the Red Devils, the fourth straight win overall and improves the team's overall record to a
near-perfect 4-1. The Red Devils put on a very fierce fight to the finish, yet the Phantom defense would step it up and seal the door to cap the win. Both the Phantoms and Red Devils received countless trips to the sin-bin as tensions and frustration on both sides of the red line would create a night for the Special Team units. After three collisions between the Red Devils and the Phantom netminder, the Phantoms Defense and Offense would begin to play with a lot of emotion and intensity. That emotion would reach a boiling point during the final period when the Phantom netminder for the fourth time during the game would be completely freight-trained in his own crease. That collision would create the first fight involving a Phantom team at Lazerskate, as Mike Shaver would take exception to the assault on his netminder. Mike Shaver and a Red Devil would be banished from the tilt and both would be ticketed with a game suspension. The Phantoms would flirt with disaster during the entire game as Phantom giveaways and Red Devil breakaways would create a very energized finish. Yet, the Phantoms would hang on and capture the win 4-3. Gordie Anderson would score two goals during the tilt, Ty Coon and Matt Myers would tally a singleton each. The Phantom netminder would continue to hold the line as the net detective stopped 29 of the 32 Red Devil shots. The team will return to action on Sunday to tangle with the undefeated Team America. Game time is set for 5:00pm. Phantom Hockey...We Are The Phantoms.
