If there was any question of the Phantoms not being able to score goals at the start of the season, those answers are being answered as of late.  In the past three 'Calls of Duty', the Yellow Shirts have scored an impressive 23 goals to earn a very five out of six points in the process.  In the team's most recent clash at Walker Ice & Fitness, the Phantoms were able to watch as Keith Moorman would strike with his first four goals of the season and add some icing with a single assist to lead the Phantoms to a huge 9-2 victory against Pioneer.  For Moorman, the goals would come while the original Phantom was forced to wear his 'Retro' Phantom jersey due to jersey issues created by the Phantom equipment manager.  The Phantoms would waste little time finding the back of the Pioneer net, as Sean Wert would deliver his first of the game just 36 seconds into the contest, as the former Rouge River standout would cap an unassisted strike to push the Phantoms into a 1-0 lead.  With just over three minutes remaining in the opening frame, Trent Kik would net his second goal of his Phantom Ice hockey career and in the process manage to help longtime team-mate Tim Vanoverloop make team history.  The set-up pass from Vanoverloop to Kik, would give Tim Vanoverloop his 100th career Phantom point and become just the eighth Phantom in the now 32 year history of the team to cap the 100-point plateau.  Just under two minutes into the second period, the Phantom's Keith Moorman would begin to dent the scoresheet with his career game, as the Greenville, Ohio native would tap in a Gordie Anderson/Nate Tyler feed to push the Phantom's into a 3-0 lead.  Pioneer would manage to crack the shut-out bid for the Phantoms three minutes later, as a shot from the point would ping-pong off of three players and through the five-hole of the Phantom crease master to put Pioneer on the board.  Sean Wert would restore the Phantom three-goal-grip two minutes later, as Matt Zehr and Gordie Anderson would set up Wert for his second of the game.  Keith Moorman would stage an unassisted goal three minutes later to lift the Phantoms into a 5-1 lead after two periods.  In the third, Pioneer would waste just ten seconds to strike paydirt, as the red-shirts would capture a quick goal in the third period to gain some life.   However, from that point, the Phantom offense would be too much as four more goals would be scored by the Phantoms during the final eleven minutes of the game (Matt Mead, Matt Mead, Keith Moorman and Keith Moorman) to skate away with a commanding 9-2 decision.  As mentioned, Keith Moorman would lead the Phantoms with 5 points (4G and 1A), followed by Sean Wert with 4 points (2G and 2A), Matt Mead (2G), Gordie Anderson and Brad Zehr (2 assists each).  The Phantoms raised the team's record to 6-3-2 on the season with 10 more games remaining during the regular season.  The Phantoms were ticketed with two minors for four minutes, while Pioneer was ticketed with one minor for two minutes.
