The West Michigan Phantoms have announced that Casey Rosenberg has been bumped up from sub to full time player for the current Winter 2011 season.Having already played in three of the teams first four games at Walker Ice & Fitness, Casey has already seen plenty of Phantom action this season and will be a perfect fit since the team dropped the services of Andy Raymond, who failed to show in the teams first four games of the season.Entering the November 13th clash against DeBoer, Rosenberg has recorded 4 goals in just three games this season and is tied with Matt Mead for the team lead in scoring.Rosenberg returns to the Phantoms after a several season absence due to his career with the Norton Shores Fire Department. It is expected that Rosenberg will able to play every two weeks and then miss a week due to the weekend rotation at the firehouse. In the games that Casey is unable to play, the Phantoms plan to use team-subs to fill out the roster. The Phantoms feature four subs on the teams roster including Nate Skoboda, Kyle Clark, Chris Benedict and Derek Reid.Casey brings a very strong presence to the Phantom blueline and is a player that brings a relaxed and humorous side to the bench, said Phantom goaltender Kevin Wootton.Having played with Casey for years at Cedar Rock and hanging out with him outside of hockey for years, I know Casey will be a perfect fit for the Yellow & Black and we are glad that he is able to return to the team, Wootton added.
