The first loss of the Winter 2010 season has been inflicted on the Phantoms, as the team dropped a rather disappointing 6-2 contest against the Stallions on Sunday.  The loss, which witnessed the Phantoms score a mere two goals, lowers the Phantoms to a 2-1 record on the season and creates a rather bottleneck in the standings for the top three teams.  The Phantoms witnessed the Stallions capitalize on numerous Phantom goaltending, defensive and offensive errors throughout the entire three period game and witnessed the hockey-gods cast their support for the Stallions on several plays on the game.  Brian Doctor would mount his first goal of the season late in the opening period to narrow the Phantoms to within two goals after the opening period trailing 3-1.  Tim Vanoverloop would manage to strike with his first of the season in the third period to complete the very goal scoring contest by the Yellow and Black.  Despite some effort by the Phantoms in the third period, the entire team would manage to suffer from their lack of effort during the previous two periods as the Phantoms just could not battle back after trailing 3-0 in the opening minutes of the contest.  The Phantoms did manage to play with a full-regular roster for the first time this season.  On the contest, the Phantoms were ticketed on three minors for six minutes of penalties, while the Stallions displayed a single minor on the board for two minutes.  Lucky for the Phantoms, game shots were unavailable for this contest due to the lack of game officials during this early contest.  The Phantoms will return to action on Sunday, October 31st, as the Phantoms will encounter the Puck-Ups in a 6:00pm contest at Cedar Rock Sports Plex.
