The Phantoms continued to wave the 'W' flag at Cedar Rock on Sunday, as Trent Kik would strike with the lone shoot-out goal of the contest to give the Phantoms a 4-3 win over Team Jager. In a very low penalty filled contest based on previous encounters between these two clubs, the Phantoms and Team Jager would advance to the extra stanza as Team Jager would strike with two goals in the third period to advance the contest to the extra session. The contest watched Team Jager climb on the scoreboard first, however, the Phantoms would respond 2:25 later as Nate Tyler (assisted by Trent Kik and Justin Calkins) would strike with the equalizer with 6:20 remaining in the opening period to send both team's into the second period knotted at 1-1. The Phantoms' Jason Schemmel would give the Phantoms their first lead of the contest, as the Grand Rapids Catholic Grad would tally his third of the season (assisted by Tim Vanoverloop and Tim Czycyk) to put the Phantoms in front at 2-1. The Yellow and Black lead would swell to 3-1 roughly five minutes later as Chad Manning would notch his second of the Winter 2010 season to give the Phantoms a healthy 3-1 lead after two periods of play. In the third period, Team Jager would find the hot hand as Jager would capitalize in the opening minute of the third period to narrow the duel to a 3-2 Phantom lead. With just 2:48 remaining in the contest, Team Jager would strike with the equalizing goal to bring both teams into a 3-3 tie. Despite pressure by both teams in the final minutes, neither team would net the game-winner in regulation and the contest would prolong itself into the thrilling and highly sought-after shoot-out.  Both goaltenders would display great skill and concentration during the opening two rounds of the three-round shoot-out. In the third round, the Phantom Captain Trent Kik would rage a back-hand beauty over the stick and blocker of the dueked out Mike Staple to give the Phantoms a 1-0 shoot-out lead. With the pressure of the contest in his control, the Phantom netminder Kevin Wootton would make a successful poke check on Team Jager's third round shooter to preserve the shoot-out lead and give the Phantoms a 4-3 game victory. The victory marks the second victory of the season for the Phantoms and the first shoot-out appearance for the Phantoms in 21 games. The last Phantom shoot-out occurred back on March 21 when the Phantoms fell to the Hawks in the extra round. The Phantoms battled Team Jager without the services of Gordie Anderson who was up north on his honeymoon. The Phantoms out-shot Team Jager 25-20 on the contest. The Phantoms were ticketed with three minors for six minutes, while Team Jager was sentenced on two minors for four minutes.
