The defensive aspect of Phantom Hockey continues to be amazing. With the help of the entire Phantom South squad, team netminder Kevin Wootton was able to capture his second shut-out of the season on Wednesday Night as the Phantoms blanked the Good Ole Boys 6-0. This shut-out marks the second of the season for the Phantoms and Kevin Wootton and ties the most shut-outs in a single season for the now eight year Phantom goaltender. The Phantoms used a six goal explosion to pound the very hot-headed Good Ole Boys to the ground on Wednesday. The Phantoms would receive goals from Kyle Clark with a pair and singletons from Gordie Anderson, Brad Zehr, Matt Zehr and Chris Wietfeldt. The victory would mark the seventh of the season for the league leaders who climb three points head of the second placed Blizzard. The team skated without the services of Tim Vanoverloop who was out of town. The team will enjoy a much-needed week off next week as the team will not return to Rivertown Sports until July 7th when they take on the Thunder.
