The one-goal differential games appear to have shifted for the Phantoms as the team was able to pull away with a 5-2 win against the Dragons on the Wednesday. The game marks the first time in now six games this season that the yellow shirts have been able to win by more than one goal. Matt Mead would the Phantoms with a two goal performance on Wednesday, as Trent Kik, Brad Zehr and Justin Calkins would each tally singletons for the victors. The victory increases the Phantoms undefeated streak to six games and keeps the Phantoms two points superior to the Blizzard for sole control of first place. The Phantoms skated without the services of Matt Zehr and Chris Wietfeldt. Trent Kik, a longtime member of the Phantom's Cedar Rock team, returned to Rivertown for just the first time since the Phantoms shifted play to Cedar Rock back in 2006.
