Phantom South capped off a great game on Wednesday, scoring 5 goals to defeat the Good Ole Boys by the final of 5-4. To some on Phantom South, this was more than a hockey game. It was an opportunity to defeat a team of players who thought it would be funny to rename their team the Good Ole Boys as a way to get back at the now idle and former three time Aluminum league champions. While only half of the former true Good Ole Boys play on Phantom South, this game was an opportnity for those members to still support their former team and proudly do Phantom South a favor. In the end, Phantom South with the former Good Ole Boy members of Matt Zehr, Brad Zehr, Nate Tyler, Kyle Clark, Justin Calkins and Steve Downing proved that there is nothing like the original and that it is very hard to fit into the role of someone else's shoes. Phantom South started out the game a little shaky, but was able to fend off pressure from the Good Ole Boys. In the end, Jamie Dutot, Tim Vanoverloop and Justin Calkins would each net singletons and Kyle Clark would complete the contest with a pair of goals for Phantom South. For Jamie Dutot, his goal of the game (third for Phantom South) would be his first ever goal at Rivertown Sports and his first for the Phantom Franchise. Jamie's back-hand beauty in the third period would give the Phantoms a 4-3 lead. Phantom South skated without the services of Matt Mead and Nate Tyler. Current Phantom Sunday forward Gordie Anderson was called into action to help the yellow shirts, as well as former teammate Steve Downing.
