The Phantoms were able to avoid two straight weeks off between regular season games, as the Puck-Ups challenged the Phantoms to a scrimmage that was held on Sunday, February 7th. Despite a horrible played opening period, the Phantoms rocketed six goals in the middle period and added two more in the third to skate to a 8-6 victory against the Puck-Ups. Chris Wietfeldt and Tim Czycyk lead the Phantom squad with a three goal hat-trick each, while Trent Kik added a pair for the Phantoms. While the game did not affect the league standings, it was a great for the Phantoms to get back into the hockey mode after enjoying an off week the week before. The Phantoms played without the services of Jason Schemmel, Matt Mead, Chad Manning and Darren Skuse during the contest. Longtime and legendary Phantom Gordie Anderson returned to the line-up to work on conditioning following physical therapy on his knee. The Phantom's six goal second period assault boosted the team's spirits and forced both sides to compete at a rather high intensity for the duration of the duel. There were no penalties called during the 16 minute, three period, stop-clock contest. The Phantoms will return to the bronze league regular season on Sunday, February 14th to tangle with Howies.
