The Jr. Phantoms met all the team's expectations in the team's first season at
Lazerskate.  Despite finishing the 14 game season with an overall record of
7-5-2 and not qualifying for the championship round series, the Phantoms were
able to post an above .500 record during the campaign. For many on the team,
this was their first season of hockey at Lazerskate.  With many shifting
northward from their previous home-rink of Rivertown Sports in Grandville, this
season was a learning experience that over half of the team had to overcome.
The team was also comprised of many players who had never played together
with one another before.  With former Phantom, Viper and Team America
players grouped into this Jr. Phantom team, there was a lot of new faces and
new hurdles this team had to overcome.  However, in talking with many on the
team, this season will be classed as a 'success.' "It's been my goal to bring
several of my friends into the Bronze league at Lazerskate for two years," said
Phantom goaltender Kevin Wootton.  "This season we were able to do that and
judging by my reaction, this should be a team that will continue to grow and
thrive in the Bronze league," Wootton said.  The Jr. Phantoms will be returning
to the Bronze league during the upcoming season.  However, the word 'Jr.' will
be removed from the team name.  "Everyone wants to win a championship
when it comes to hockey, however having fun playing a sport in which we all
enjoy is of greater value," said Wootton.
