One day after falling victim to the Arrow's in the Brass Championship game at Rivertown Sports, Andy Roseart returned to the rink and played an excellent game for the Phantoms. Despite Roseart's three-goal-hat-trick and four points on the night, the Phantoms could not fend of Howie's during the final period as the Yellow Shirts fell to Howie's 9-6. The Howie's win, keepings the Calvin College Boys holding the distinction as being the only undefeated team at Lazerskate this season. Despite the loss, the Phantoms played gallant during the entire contest and played what very well may be considered the best game for the defending champions this season. The Phantoms, coming off a 6-9 loss to Howie's several weeks ago, really played a much improved game and connected on several passes to keep the score within two goals all the way until the final minutes of the third period. As mentioned, Andy Roseart, the Biohazard product for the Phantoms connected for three goals on the night and tallied an assist. Ty Coon, the other Biohazard member, connected for one goal on the night. Matt Zehr and Trent Kik were the other marksmen for the Phantoms. Despite the Phantoms playing a very fast and talented team, the defensive woes continue for the Phantoms as the Yellow Shirts extend the rather ill fact of being out shot in each of their last six games. Howie's out shot the Phantoms 42-23 during the contest, including registering a game high 18 shots on goal during the final stanza to seal the victory. In the past three games alone, the Phantoms have surrendered 109 on goal. The Phantoms managed to play a disciplined brand of hockey, as only three minor penalties were assessed to the Phantoms. The Phantom loss to Howie's will mark the first time in the team's rather short stint at Lazerskate that the Phantoms will loose a season series to another division foe. The Phantoms played without the services of Casey Rosenberg who was serving game one of his undisclosed suspension. Brian Doctor was a healthy scratch due to a third shift work conflict and Mike Shaver was unavailable for service. Eric Maxwell, the former Mona Shores Ice Hockey Standout registered his first game with the Phantoms. The team will return action next Sunday, as a battle of last season's championship game will again take shape. Phantoms vs. Rogue River set for a 2:00pm face-off.Phantom Hockey...We Are The Phantoms.
