The West Michigan Phantoms are excited and thrilled to announce that a former Phantom who holds four individual team records that still stand today is returning to the Phantoms.  Chris Benedict, a Muskegon native, has penned a deal to return to hockey and wear the Phantom colors for the balance of the Winter season.  Benedict, who has seen action with the Phantoms both on the ice and in in-line, is also the assistant coach of the Mona Shores Varsity Hockey Team and is expected to bring some of his coaching assistance to the Phantoms, along with helping to increase offensive and defensive skill for the Black and Yellow. Benedict currently holds four team records which include: the most goals scored by a Phantom in a single game (8), most goals scored by a Phantom in a single season with 39, most points by a Phantom in a single game (8) and most points by a Phantom in a single season with 52.  Chris Benedict is fourth all-time on the Phantoms offensive lamp-lighter list with 128 points and his sixth all time in team points with 201. Benedict will join the team this weekend when the Phantoms tangle with Shots at 9:10 at Walker Ice & Fitness.
