It is not too often that one gets to say that they played hockey at the beach in Chicago, but for seven members of the Gong Show Hockey team that statement came true. On Saturday, August 25th, the Gong Show team traveled to the Windy City to play in the annual TCS Roller Hockey Tournament's 'Beach Cup 2012' and skated away with a Silver division championship in the highest skilled league at the tourney. The team which was comprised of Gong Show members Matt Myers, Kyle Clark, Nate Skoboda, Brandon Whalen, Robbie Swain and Mitch Hoolsema went a perfect 4-0 during the contest which started at 11:00am and ended around 11:00pm at North Park Beach at NAB Sports in Chicago. Gong Show Hockey called on the services of Phantom Goaltender Kevin Wootton, who turned down the opportunities in the past couple of years to attend the Beach Cup, and Wootton did well to help Gong Show Hockey capture the team's first-ever Beach Cup Championship.
