Despite jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the second period, the Phantoms fell victim to Bobs Bar who scored the next four goals of the game to take claim to a 4-2 win over the Phantoms on Sunday.  The Phantoms Brad Zehr (unassisted) would open the games scoring midway in the middle period, as the Muskegon native tallied his seventh of the season to close within two goals of Phantom-Career-Goal #75.  Four minutes later, the Phantoms Matt Zehr would strike with his eighth of the season (assisted by Kyle Clark) to lift the yellow shirts into a 2-0 lead.  However, from that point the Phantoms would go soft and limp and a Bobs Bar breakaway goal with 1:38 remaining in the second frame would begin their rally and close out the second period trailing the Phantoms 2-1.  The Matt Zehr strike with 3:59 remaining in the period would manage to be the lone powerplay strike for the Phantoms, who experienced two full powerplays including a short-stint on the two-man advantage in the middle period.  In the third period, the Phantoms collapse would occur, as three Bobs Bar goals would be tallied in the final frame to leap-frog ahead of the Phantoms to take a 4-2 victory.  The defeat lowers the Phantoms overall record to 11-5-2 and ended a three-game winning streak for the Yellow Shirts.  The Phantoms would be ticketed on three minors, all to Trent Kik during the game.  Bobs Bar would be sentenced on six minors for 12 minutes during the contest.  The Phantoms played without the services of Gene Smith who was sidelined in Muskegon with other duties.  Kyle Clark was called up for the Phantoms and captured the teams lone assist of the night on Matt Zehrs second period goal.  During the game, Matt Zehr would celebrate his 30th Birthday and be injured in a play along the boards.  Following a trip to the doctor on Monday for X-Rays, it was discovered that Matt Zehr broke his Tibula and will be out 3-6 weeks.  It is noteworthy to report that the strong-willed Matt Zehr finished the game despite the injury.  The combination of Nate Skoboda and Kyle Clark are expected to see a lot of playing time until Matt Zehr returns to the lineup as Matt and other scheduled vacations from other players will affect the line-up for the next several weeks.  The Phantoms will return to action on Sunday, March 18th to square off against WIFC at 8:20pm.
