Sometimes the pressure at the top of the standings for those undefeated teams is just too much.  Agape found that out on Sunday, as the West Michigan Phantoms displayed a near perfect game to deliver a Yellow & Black stamped 'Loss' to Agape's perfect Walker Ice & Fitness season on Phantom 'Family Night.'  Spearheaded by a tremendous effort from all aspects of the Phantom game, the Phantoms were able to end a single game losing streak and earn two very important points in the standings entering the Phantom's lone 'off-week' of the season set for December 4th.  The Phantom's Casey Rosenberg would begin the defensive duel's offense on Sunday, however, game officials would give the Phantom's Gordie Anderson the goal which would mark his fourth goal of the season and tie Casey Rosenberg and Matt Mead for the team lead in scoring.  In the second period, Agape would manage to beat Phantom netminder Kevin Wootton hi-side, as Agape's Jeff Powers would launch the puck over the sprawling glove of Wootton to deadlock the duel at 1-1.  Late in the second period, the Phantom's Nate Skoboda would strike with his first of the season (sub this season) and continue his powerful offensive numbers that he displayed last season in the inaugural Phantom Ice season to help the yellow shirts into a 2-1 lead to close out the second period.  In the third, the former Grandville Bulldog would strike again, as Nate Skoboda would tally his second of the game early in the third period to mount the Phantoms into a 3-1 lead.  The Phantoms would continue to display great defense and rely on a gallant showing by the Phantom netminder to preserve the lead and as mentioned deliver the first loss of the season for Agape.  The final five minutes of the third period would yield a lot of wide open ice as numerous players from both teams would receive penalties during the finale and create several powerplays for both clubs during the spirited finish, however, neither team would be able to achieve a special teams strike.  The Phantoms played without the services of Gene Smith and Matt Zehr.  Nate Skoboda and Chris Benedict would be called into action for the Phantoms.  The Phantoms will return to action on Sunday, December 11th to seek revenge against DeBoer at 9:30pm.  The Phantoms would like to thank you to all of the family members who came out and supported the team on Sunday, November 27th.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
