Gordie Anderson was able to break through the Phantom History books on Sunday, as the 31 season Phantom veteran was able to tally two assists to reach 100 career Phantom assists in a 7-2 victory over the Puck-Ups on Sunday. The victory marked the 19th consecutive victory by the Phantoms over the Puck-Ups spanning the course of the last several seasons and increases the Black & Yellows goal differential to 119-50 against the Puck-Ups in that span.  The victory yet again closes out another regular season in positive territory which has witnessed the Phantoms skate to a 7-3 overall record this season.  While being achieved a few weeks ago, the Phantoms will close out the teams final regular season marks at Cedar Rock with no below .500 marks in any season since the team shifted play to Cedar Rock in 2006.  In fact, the Phantoms have posted a .500 mark or better in 25 of the past 25 seasons dating back to 2006 (Rivertown, Cedar Rock, Walker Ice & Fitness).  On Sunday, the Phantoms would be led by Trent Kik and Gordie Anderson each with a pair of goals and singletons from Chad Manning, Ryan Mylenek and Tim Czycyk.  Complete stats were not available from the contest as Cedar Rock was understaffed during the 2pm contest.  However, Chris Benedict would tally four assists, Ryan Mylenek and Gordie Anderson with two assists apiece, Chad Manning and Nate Tyler would round the points with a single assist each.  The Puck-Ups would be guilty of a single infraction for two minutes, while the Phantoms would display a clean-brand of hockey and not be sentenced on any violations during the afternoon contest.  The Phantoms skated without the services of Jason Schemmel (other obligations), Brian Doctor (injured), John Dykehouse (injured), Eric Stubig (work).  Tim Vanoverloop and Tim Czycyk would be called into action by the Phantoms in this season finale.  The Phantoms will return to action next Sunday, September 18th to begin the post-season at the Plex.  Just four more games remain for the Phantoms at Cedar Rock Sports Plex.  Be sure to come on down and watch the few remaining games before the team shifts operations to Walker Ice & Fitness in early October.
