The West Michigan Phantoms were able to keep the streak alive on Sunday, as Tim Czycyk would single-handily propel the yellow and black with a three goal performance to stage a 5-1 victory for the victors. Despite a very defensive first and second period, the Phantoms would stage a four-fecta in the final frame to push the contest out-of-reach for the struggling Puck-Ups. Just 39 seconds into the first period, Tim Czycyk would begin his three-goal assault against the Puck-Ups, as the former GRCC forward would receive a pass from Nate Tyler to put the Phantoms on top at 1-0. As mentioned, that single goal lead would hold true until the early stages of the third period, when Czycyk would capture his second of the night off the stick of Jason Schemmel to double the Phantom lead to 2-0. The Puck-Ups would manage to climb back into contention roughly five minutes later, as a Puck-Up forward would claw his way into the Phantom's right wing un-noticed and riffle a saucer pass into the back of the Phantom cage to narrow the Phantom lead to 2-1. The Phantom's would then be faced with a huge burden, after the Phantom's Nate Tyler would be sentenced to a rare five minute major for high-sticking and a two minute roughing infraction. Following a rather extended discussion from the pair of blind mice, the Puck-Ups would be presented a 4-on-2 advantage. However, that double-man-extra-man-band would be short lived, as just seconds into play, the Puck-ups would be sentenced on a tripping infraction to reduce the on-rink man-power to a 3-on-2 powerplay for the Puck-ups. The powerplay plan would ultimately back-fire on the Puck-Ups almost instantly. The Phantom's Tim Czycyk would manage to net a break-away tally shorthanded for the Phantoms to increase the Phantom lead to 3-1. Just 1:30 later, the Phantom's growing hostility towards the Puck-Ups and officials would yield positive results as Jason Schemmel would net two empty net goals in the final 2:51 to surge the yellow shirts into a commanding and final 5-1 victory. The victory pushes the Phantoms to a lead-best 4-0 record. The Phantoms were sentenced to two minors and a major for nine minutes, while the Puck-Ups were guilty of three minors for eight minutes. The Phantoms skated without the services of five regular skaters: Tim Vanoverloop, Chris Wietfeldt, Gordie Anderson, Brian Doctor and Darren Skuse.  Nate Tyler and Mike Shaver were called into action for the league leaders.
