The West Michigan Phantoms are pleased to announce that the longest running
recreational in-line team in West Michigan has completed the roster for the upcoming
Winter 2009 season.  On this date, Phantom General Manger Kevin Wootton is excited to announce that four new faces will join the Phantom squad for the 26th season of Phantom Hockey.  Justin Calkins, Trent Kik, Jason Schemmel and Tim Czycyk will all add the skill and talent needed to again bring the Bronze edition of Phantom Hockey back into serious championship contenders.  The yellow and black will continue to operate with a 10-man roster.

Justin Calkins: The Phantoms will again see Justin Calkins in the yellow and black.
Calkins returns to the Phantoms after spending the previous months as a member of the Good Ole Boys at Rivertown Sports, were the Muskegon native was instrumental in helping the 'Boys capture their second consectutive championship.  This blue-line native will replace Tim Vanoverloop on the defensive end for the Phantoms.  This will mark Calkin's third season as a Bronze Phantom at Cedar Rock.

Trent Kik: Having been a solid member of the Phantoms since the Summer 2006 season at Rivertown Sports, Trent Kik will return to the Phantoms for the team's 26th season.  A native of Sparta, Kik brings an offensive scoring touch from the Silver Phantoms down to the bronze league.  Kik was a huge factor in the Phantom's Winter 2008 Bronze championship at Cedar Rock. Kik will again return to the Bronze team and be positioned on the offensive unit.  While his former line-mate (Matt Zehr) of the now famous 'Meat-Lovers-Line' has shifted play to the Good Ole Boys at Rivertown, Kik will be right at home on the Bronze team serving up goals and leading the Phantoms.

Tim Czycyk: Like Kik, Czycyk will drop down to the Bronze Phantoms for the Winter 2009 season.  A longtime member of Rivertown Sports, Czycyk will bring more firepower to a Phantom Bronze team that suffered severely last season.  Czycyk led the bronze squad during the Winter 2008 championship season with 12 Goals and 7 assists for a team high 19 points.  Czycyk's scoring ability will see the former Blue Vortex star to see action on the red line for the Phantoms.

The additions of Justin Calkins, Trent Kik, and Tim Czycyk bring to 10 the number of
players the Phantoms have signed for the 2009 Winter season.  Previously, Darren Skuse, Chad Manning, Matt Mead, Chuck McCloud, Dan Craveling and Kevin Wootton agreed to contracts for the Winter 2009 season. Adhering to team policy, terms of those deals are not available.  The Winter 2009 season begins September 13th.
