Scott Stout scored his first ever Phantom goal on Sunday as the team defeated Black & Gold 5-1. The Victory keeps the Phantoms undefeated in post-season at a record of 3-0. While the team did not qualify for the 4-week championship bracket, the Phantoms have been playing excellent hockey as of late and heads are high on a very productive Summer season. The team has shed off the issues that plagued the team during a four game stretch in April and has restored that with crisp clean passing, great communication and energy that has allowed the Phantoms to outscore the opponents 24-9 in the team's last four games. On Sunday, The Phantoms captured the game's first four goals on strikes from Brett Smith, Scott Stout and a pair of goals from Jason Schemmel. With just 1:40 remaining in the contest Jason Schemmel completed the hat-trick with his third of the night. The lone Black and Gold strike occurred while B&G was shorthanded. The Phantoms out shot B&G 29-23 on the night. On the Nauty's Penalty Minute Board the Phantoms were ticketed for a minor penalty for two minutes (Thanks Brent), while Black & Gold created 6 minors for 12 minutes in penalties. The Phantoms will take a week off before returning to Lazerskate on Sunday, June 22 to close out the team's inaugural season at the Plex. It is expected that the Phantoms will take on the Sharkies during the finale. As Woot prepares to take on his former team, it should be a great way to close a great season of Phantom Bronze Hockey.
