The Phantoms continue to draw in talent from the team's home school. On Sunday, the Phantoms took a
bold step forward and added their eighth graduate from Mona Shores. Eric Maxwell, the multi-season captain of the Mona Shores Varsity Hockey Team, becomes the second sub available for the defending champions. Eric joins the ranks of former Mona Shores students, Gordie Anderson, Casey Rosenberg, Matt Zehr, Brad Zehr, Brian Doctor, Derek Reid and Kevin Wootton to shed the Blue and White in favor of the Yellow and Black. The addition of Eric Maxwell to the Phantom roster forced the Phantoms to open a roster spot. After team discussions all week, the team did agree to replace Matt Myers with Eric Maxwell. While it was a very hard decision to make, the key factor was the team needed to complete its roster at the deadline with a group of 12 that are available for action. Roster shortages at the start of the season created some problems and team had to finalize a roster that would limit future problems this season. The team hold nothing against Matt and hopes that in future seasons Matt would like to return to the team as a full time player.
