The Phantoms managed to capture the team's second shut-out of the Winter 2006 season as the team downed the Hockey Rats 10-0 on Sunday to advance to the second round of the play-offs. While the outcome of the #1 seed against the #12 seed wasn't in question, the Hockey Rats did play a great game and have made improvements from the start of the season. As for the Phantoms, the victory increased the team's winning streak to ten games, only two wins away from tieing the team's longest winning streak at 12. During the Fall 2003 season, the Yellow Shirts went 12-0 during the team's first twelve games. On Sunday when the Phantoms return to Lazerskate, the team has the shot of inching closer to that record. The Phantoms will return to action on Sunday at 6:00pm to tangle with Black And Gold. This will be the first ever match-up between these two teams. Black and gold, who was seeded #10 in the play-offs, captured a huge upset victory against the #3 Sawbones in opening week play-off action to advance. This game was the only upset victory of the first week.
