The Phantoms continue to uphold a strong tradition that the team has carried on since the team was founded back in 2002.  In each season that the team has captured a league championship, the Phantoms have awarded the trophy to a player on the team who has been a mainstay and has played a very important role in the continuation of the Phantoms success.  The team strongly believes that every member of the team plays an important role and the team likes to recognize a player's devotion to the team by presenting the championship trophy to a different member each season as a way of saying thanks for their longtime commitment to Phantom Hockey.  This season, the trophy is presented to a member who has played in all three locations with the Phantoms and is and has been a co-captain for the Phantoms for several seasons.  Trent Kik has displayed a solid commitment and has been a true example and leader for the Phantoms since he started way back with the team in 2005 at Rivertown Sports.  For Kik, this Summer 2012 Phantom'sChampionship marks his fifth with the Phantoms (Winter 2006, Spring 2008, Winter 2008, Summer 2011 and now Summer 2012).  Kik will join the elite group of individuals who hold a piece of team history including Kevin Wootton, Nate Tyler, Matt Zehr, Brad Zehr and Gordie Anderson.  The Phantoms would like to congratulate and thank Trent Kik for your commitment and service to the Phantoms.  We hope that his trophy stands as a valued token of the team's appreciation for your heart, passion and service with the Yellow & Black since 2005.  While an individual's stats do not play any part in presenting a trophy, it is an added bonus to Trent who registered two goals and an assist in the championship victory during the Summer 2012 season.
